About Our Latex Sheets
The heart of our products
Where does latex come from?
We use 100% natural liquid latex sourced from Malaysia — a region known for producing some of the world’s best-quality rubber. There, rubber trees are grown and harvested.
The latex is shipped to Germany in raw form, where we pigment, pour, and finish everything by hand in our Leipzig atelier.
No silicone, no shortcuts — just pure latex, turned into something beautiful.
Is latex dangerous for people with allergies?
Latex allergies are real — and we take them seriously. Natural latex contains proteins that can trigger allergic reactions in some people. These can range from mild (like itching or redness) to more serious symptoms (like breathing issues or, rarely, anaphylaxis).
If you’re unsure whether you’re allergic, we strongly recommend getting tested by a doctor before wearing latex clothing or working with our sheets.
Tip: Chlorinated latex is sometimes better tolerated by people with mild sensitivities — but always check with a medical professional first.
What makes your white and crystal clear latex so different?
You’ve probably heard: “There’s no such thing as non-yellow white latex.” And yes — most white or clear latex has a natural yellow tint. But we’ve found a better way.
Thanks to Ruka’s background in painting techniques and color science, we know how to neutralize the yellow tint without using bleach, fillers, or silicone. The result? Our “white” and “crystal clear” latex sheets are 100% natural latex — just with a subtle grey cast, not yellow. See our product photos for real-life comparisons.
So yes, there is something whiter than regular white latex.
No filters, just science and a little color alchemy.
Can I order a sample before commiting?
Because our sheets are handmade to your order, we can’t offer cut samples — each color run means a full production cycle. To offer you samples, we would need to specially produce them for you. If you plan a project where you absolutely need to be sure, we can do that on special request on a fee, please contact us.
For inspiration, you can always buy our “lucky bag” of scraps, we offer them on a kg-base. Also check our “Moodboards”: we’re happy to help guide you if you’re unsure. And hey, if you’re after a custom experiment, we love a challenge — just reach out.
Are lighter colors more sensitive?
Not more sensitive — just more honest. Light colors (especially white, light purples, natural or crystal) will still react to sweat, sun, or metal contact like any other latex. They just show it faster.
Always store light latex away from UV light and metals, and be careful with sweat during wear — especially around copper-based jewelry or hardware.
Can latex loose it's color over time?
We use carefully tested pigments that are highly stable in latex. That said, latex is a natural material, and over time, some color shifting or fading can occur — especially with poor storage, heavy sun exposure, or metal contact.
For best results:
- Store similar colors together (some color transfer can happen)
- Keep your pieces in a dark, dry place
- Avoid contact with copper, brass, or untreated metals
This isn’t “bleeding” like in textiles — it’s more like a slow shift. Treat your latex kindly, and it will hold its color beautifully.
How do you create patterns and textures in your latex?
Our patterns aren’t printed on top — they’re built into the latex itself during the pouring process.
That means every swirl, glitter trail, or galaxy burst is mixed, layered, or manipulated by hand while the latex is still liquid.Nothing is digitally printed or pressed afterward — these are real, physical interactions between color, material, and time. No two sheets are exactly alike or 100% reproduceable.
We’re still experimenting (and always upgrading), so if you have an idea or a vision for a specific pattern, we’re more than happy to explore custom approaches with you.
Every pattern is a little bit of art and a whole lot of experimentation.
How do you mix colors?
This is one of our favorite parts.
Every color starts with pure pigment, mixed into the liquid latex by hand. The trick? What you see wet isn’t what you get. Latex changes color as it dries — sometimes dramatically — so we always test on a small scale first.
We offer two ways to request colors:
- Color Vibes – You tell us the general feeling (send pics or a palette), and we interpret it.
- Precise Color Match – You send us a RAL/Pantone number or a physical swatch, and we match it scientifically.
Color-matching takes time — every adjustment has to dry fully before we know if we nailed it. But we don’t stop until it’s right.
Can you also print on latex?
Not yet — but it’s in the works.
We’re currently researching and testing methods for direct printing on latex, but it’s a delicate process. Latex reacts differently than fabric or vinyl, and we want to make sure any printing technique we use is durable, safe, and worthy of Se’tyo quality.
So, printing? Coming soon.
We’ll let you know when it’s beautiful and reliable. How long does latex sheet production take?
Standard production time is 6 to 8 weeks, depending on your order size and the complexity of the colors or patterns.
Need it faster? We offer an Express production option (2–3 weeks) for an additional fee. Technically, two weeks are the fastest possible.
Please note: Color matching adds about 1 extra week in both cases, since we need time to test and adjust.
Why are there variations? Is the quality good?
Every piece is handmade, which means slight variations in color, thickness, and texture are completely normal. Colors and patterns can vary naturally—and since we’re not machines, no two sheets are ever 100% identical. Small air bubbles, minor surface marks, or uneven edges are part of the unique charm of handmade latex and are not defects. Rest assured: every sheet we ship is carefully inspected, fine to use, and made to last—though like all latex, it may need a little extra care from time to time. For more details, check out our Quality Guide.
Why can pattern- and color variations happen?
Colors can look a little different depending on screen settings, lighting, or how images are shared digitally (like in chats or emails). We do our best to represent every pattern and color as accurately as possible, but small differences are natural when working with real, handmade materials. Sometimes a pattern or a shade may not be exactly what you expected — in those cases, we’ll always do our best to help. For regular sheets without a color match, we can promise to capture the overall vibe, but exact matches aren’t guaranteed. However, we offer options if you need it accurate 🙂
How can I get an exact color match?
If you’d like your latex to match a specific color as closely as possible, we offer a Color Match service for an additional fee. You can send us a reference (such as a RAL code) or — even better — a physical sample to work from. We’ll carefully mix colors until we get the closest possible match.
Please note that certain effects, like special glitters, may have some limitations, but we’ll always do everything we can to get it right. Because latex is a natural material, tiny variations may still occur — but we’ll make sure the final result is as close as possible to your chosen shade. Feel free to contact us for further information, if you feel unsure 🙂
What thicknesses do you offer?
We currently offer standard latex sheet thicknesses between 0.25 mm and 1.20 mm, depending on the color and effect. Patterns and some special finishes (like glitters) are not available in 0.25mm. If you’re after something specific — also between the steps we offer in the shop, feel free to ask. We’re always experimenting. Our sheets are handmade, so thickness may vary slightly!
I have a problem with my sheet. What should I do?
We are still developing the quality of our sheets and trying new patterns and techniques. However, we are no factory, we don’t have perfect devices for controling everything and we are no machines. Sometimes it can happen that something goes wrong without us noticing it.
If you should ever happen to have any weird issue with one of our sheets, we are more than happy to hear from it. Without knowing it, there is no chance for us to improve things. We are more than happy to support you and to get things working. Please always feel free to get in touch with us directly, so we can improve our products and give you the best possible experience!
Latex Clothing
How do I find the right size?
For ready-to-wear clothing, check our Size Chart — it’s based on body measurements, not garment dimensions, so you get the right fit.
For custom or made-to-measure, you have three options:
- Send us your measurements — we’ll guide you with a detailed how-to.
- Visit our atelier in Leipzig and get measured in person.
- Meet us on the road — we sometimes take appointments when we travel.
For high-end Once in a Lifetime pieces, we may request extra fittings or find other approaches — whatever it takes to bring your vision to life.
Can latex clothing be washed in the washing machine?
Yes, with caution — we recommend hand washing for delicate or high-value pieces (see our care guide for details), but:
- Use the gentlest cycle, not too hot water, minimal spin
- No harsh detergents — only latex-safe or mild soap
- Wash latex items on their own, no metal parts or sharp garments
- A mesh laundry bag helps protect the surface
It’s convenient, but not risk-free. Be gentle, and only machine-wash if you know what you’re doing.
Why are there white or grey stains on my latex after washing?
Don’t panic — those aren’t permanent. Wet latex changes it’s color and therefore, in most cases, you need simply to further let it dry. If they are still there, they might be mineral spots from water or residue from soap or talc. Here’s how to fix it:
- Wipe gently with a clean towel
- Use a touch of silicone oil to remove the dullness
- Avoid air-drying latex in sunlight or over radiators — heat + water = marks
Want that glow back? A little oil and polish will do the trick
Do you chlorinate your latex clothing?
Nope — we don’t offer chlorinated latex at this time.
Chlorination is a post-production treatment that smooths the surface of latex to make it easier to wear without oil or powder. But we choose not to do it.
Why?
Because we love the natural feel of untreated latex. Also, because chlorinated latex is harder to repair. And honestly? It’s just not our style.
That said, chlorinated latex can be a great option for people with mild sensitivities or who prefer that ultra-smooth surface. But there are some designers offering that service, if you need it.
How does latex fall? Can I get a flowy or fluffy shape?
Latex isn’t like fabric — it doesn’t “flow” in the same way. It clings, stretches, and holds form, which makes it perfect for sculptural designs. But yes, you can create volume.
We use hidden structures, layering, and other tricks to give latex garments that floaty, dramatic silhouette. Most designs are body-near, but why not make it fluffy?
Want a soft shape or flowing feel? Just ask — we know how to make latex move like it shouldn’t be able to.
Tips on dressing and undressing?
Here is the quick guide:
To dress easily:
- Use silicone oil or talcum powder on your skin and inside the garment
- Be gentle — stretch with care, not speed
- Avoid poking with long nails and sharp jewelry
To undress:
- Don’t pull or rush
- Loosen with oil or take a quick rinse in the shower
Make it part of the experience. Latex is sensual, not rushed.
How long does clothing production take?
For regular orders, production usually takes 7 to 9 weeks.
If you’re in a rush, we offer Express production (3 to 4 weeks) for an additional fee.Need color matching? That adds about a week for testing and drying time.
Can I wear latex if I sweat a lot?
There is no reason on the material’s side to not be worn, it depends if you feel comfortable. We would recommend skin tight outfits, as the tendency of sweating is lower than with loose clothing, where there stays an insulating layer of air between your skin and the garment.
Will latex stretch or shrink over time?
Nope — latex doesn’t “wear out” like fabric. It won’t stretch out or shrink by itself.
However, poor storage, extreme heat, or overstretching when dressing can weaken the material. It also will weaken after some years and won’t last forever. But treat it with a little respect, and it’ll last a long time.
How do I store latex outfits safely between wears?
Keep latex cool, dark, and separate.
Store your pieces away from sunlight or metal contact. Hanging works great (padded hangers, please!), or folded in black bags. You can also check out our guide, to see how to care for your latex the best way 🙂
Once in a Lifetime Projects
For those who refuse to blend in.
What is “Once in a Lifetime”?
This is where we push the borders of the realm of possibilities.
Once in a Lifetime is our couture line — built entirely around you. These are high-end, one-of-a-kind creations, designed to express something deeper: identity, fantasy, your very own personality.
Not off-the-rack. Not mass-produced. Not repeated.
Each piece is a collaboration — with your story, your vision, your fascinations. We don’t follow trends. We follow what stirs you.
How long does the design and production process take?
It depends on the project. Complexity, materials, and collaboration all play a role.
Typically:
- We take a few weeks to translate your ideas into sketches
- Once approved, production takes around 3 months
- We’ll discuss timing clearly with you based on your project’s needs
Some dreams take time — and we’re here for every step.
Can I make changes to my custom order during the process?
Yes — within reason, and within the timeline.
Design is a process. We’re flexible, and we want your piece to feel right. Small adjustments are totally possible. Big changes might need a discussion (and sometimes an updated quote).
We’ll always keep communication open — this is a collaboration, not just a transaction.
How much do custom pieces cost?
It depends on:
- The complexity of the design
- The materials required
- The time and detail involved
We’ll discuss everything upfront — no surprises.
Reach out with your idea, and we’ll prepare a custom quote just for you. Asking is always free. Can I get an idea of your past work?
Absolutely! While each piece is unique, we’re happy to discuss previous projects and draw inspiration from them. Each piece is a reflection of our creativity and yours. Visit our Moodboard for inspiration.
I loved a piece you made before — can I order the same?
We’re so happy to hear that! But no — Once in a Lifetime means exactly that.
Those pieces are built around one person, one moment, one story. We don’t recreate them. But we can let their energy inspire a new piece — one that’s just as powerful, but tailored to you.
Ready-to-wear pieces, of course, can be reordered or customized.
Why do you ask for three “fascinations”?
Because this is more than just measurements.
We ask for three things that fascinate you — ideas, images, feelings, symbols — to help us understand your inner world. It’s a creative shortcut into you. Your identity. Your story. Your fire.
These don’t need to make sense to anyone else. We’ll translate them into form, color, and shape — that’s our job.
What are “Wanna Do’s”?
Wanna Do’s are our dream pieces — designs and concepts we’re burning to create, but waiting for the right person to wear them.
If one of them speaks to you? Say the word. That project could be waiting just for you.
How can I start a Once in a Lifetime project?
Send us a message 💌
Use our Contact Form or email us directly. Tell us a little about what you’re dreaming of, and we’ll guide you from there — no pressure, no commitment.Do I need to visit Leipzig for a custom order?
Not necessarily, but we will have to meet at least once.
We can work remotely with detailed measurements, design calls, and regular updates. For major couture projects, we may request extra info, but we’ll guide you through everything.
To make sure your custom piece fits like a second skin (or a floating sculpture), we do require at least one in-person fitting during the process.
But that doesn’t mean you always have to come to us.We’re happy to travel — either to you, or to arrange a fitting when we’re visiting your region.
We’ll guide you through every step, from your first fascinations to the final fitting.
Distance doesn’t stop creativity — we just plan around it.Can you work with performance or stage requirements?
Yes! We love performance wear — and we know it needs to do more than look good.
If you need something durable, flexible, quick-change-friendly, or compatible with rigging, movement, or heat — just let us know. We’ll adapt the design and construction techniques to fit your needs.
What happens if the final piece doesn’t fit?
It will fit.
That’s the beauty of made-to-measure — every piece is built around your exact body, not a size chart. The project won’t be finished, before it fits.Of course, bodies can change, so if adjustments are needed at a later point, we’ll work with you to find the best solution. Feel free to contact in that case.
About Se'tyo
We’re not a factory. We’re not a trend. We’re a vibe. And maybe a little obsession.
Who are you?
We’re Ruka and Yuki — a married, queer creative duo who mix art, engineering, tailoring, and just the right amount of chaos into everything we do.
We started out wanting to launch a fashion label — but when we couldn’t find latex sheets that matched our vision and standards, we decided to take matters into our own (slightly glitter-covered) hands. We took over the legacy of Yummy Gummy, rebuilt it with science and soul, and turned it into something new:
🖤 Se’tyo — a brand where individuality, craftsmanship, and expression come first.
What does “Se’tyo” mean?
The name came from a friend’s attempt to describe a feeling — a mix of identity, expression, and aesthetic.
We shaped the sound into something that could live in any language, while keeping a bit of mystery and elegance. It’s not a word you’ll find in a dictionary. It’s one you’ll feel.
Where are you based?
Se’tyo is based in Leipzig, Germany, about 150 km south of Berlin.
Our atelier is in Plagwitz, a creative and industrial district full of artists, makers, and weird little workshops just like ours.We work out of a converted yarn factory — it’s poetic, really. The past of textiles meeting the future of latex.
Can I visit your studio?
Absolutely — just make an appointment at least two days ahead.
We have a small showroom at our atelier where you can see available latex sheets and garments and of course talk about a custom piece or project
Please note: we don’t keep large stock on site — most things are made to order. But there’s always something exciting in the works.
What does “individuality” mean to you?
The uniqueness of each being. The unique awareness and ideas of each person and the always different approaches to show those aspects of this unique being. To us, individuality means showing the parts of yourself that don’t fit neatly into categories.
It’s the way someone walks, the colors they crave, the things they collect in their head and heart. It’s not about being different just to stand out — it’s about being honest in how you express who you are.
Fashion trends come and go. We’re here to create pieces that feel like you, not just fit like you.
What is “Expression Design”?
Expression Design is our approach to fashion.
It’s about creating clothing that reflects your inner self — your complexity, your power, your weirdness, your beauty. We don’t just make outfits. We create outfit concepts that capture emotions, stories, rituals, and moods. You want to show, what kind of filigree brilliance does drive you? Or which amazing self-confidence? If you want to wear something that speaks for you before you even open your mouth?
That’s what we want to create. What’s your professional background?
Ruka visited an art school, with a focus on materials and color theory. After graduation, she trained as a women’s tailor, and later earned her master’s in theatre costume and pattern making in Hamburg — where she also specialized in historical menswear.
Yuki comes from an engineering background. Her love of structure, systems, and problem-solving blends perfectly with her passion for latex. She’s been creating latex clothing for years. Before getting part of it, she planned to attend a design study, but plans change…
All designs are developed together — from sketches to fittings to final pieces.
Can you do everything?
Well… no 😄 We’re artists, not goddesses. But we’ll always do everything in our power to make your ideas possible. And we’re still at a point where haven’t explored all possibilities, we’re far from reaching borders. (maybe just free flying objects don’t work)
Our specialty is combining Colors, Latex, Patterns, Textile knowledge and imagination
If it’s weird, beautiful, or probably impossible — we’re in^^
Still, although we do our best every day, we are just two humans with our limits, may it be physical boundaries or cost, but we are happy trying all we can.
What inspires you?
The world. People. Cultures. Music. Chaos. Color. Conversation.
We travel, we observe, we absorb. Our inspiration comes from what fascinates people — the little things they’re drawn to and the strange beauty that connects it all.And we always want to know:
🖤 What fascinates you?

We can arrange delivery with other couriers as well, if you prefer. Please note that this may come with different fees, which we’ll confirm before shipping. We’re flexible — and happy to work with your preferences.
Can I track my order?
Yes! Once your order ships, we’ll send you a tracking number via email.
You can track then directly with DHL (or other couriers if you choose them)Why can orders sometimes take longer than planned?
Because every sheet and clothing piece is handmade, some orders need a little extra time and care. Occasionally we even remake a sheet to be sure it meets our standards. Weather can also play a role — heatwaves or super low / high humidity sometimes slow production since latex reacts to climate. We know waiting isn’t always easy, but these small delays mean you’ll receive a piece that’s truly worth it. And don’t worry — if things ever take longer than expected, we’ll keep you in the loop. Feel always free to ask if you need any information regarding your order.
What are my options for cancelling an order?
We get it — sometimes things change.
Your cancellation options depend on the type of item you ordered:
- Ready-to-wear items can usually be cancelled if they haven’t shipped yet
- Custom or made-to-measure pieces may be non-cancellable once production has started — but contact us and we’ll talk it through
- Also, legal withdrawal rights apply of course.
For full details, please check our Terms and Conditions — or just message us directly.
Can I return or exchange my item?
We want you to love your purchase! For ready-made items, returns are of course possible. For custom-made items, we can only offer limited returns. Whatever the issue is, please contact us directly and let us find a satisfying solution.
If an exchange or return is needed, the items must be sent back to us in their original condition—uncut, unprocessed, and unaltered. Refunds or exchanges are only issued once we receive the items in this state.
